Cape Town in a day.
Waking up in Luxury Camps Bay Apartment managed by Nox Rentals shifting the shutters to let in the sea breeze. The sun peaks over the mountain and lights up the camps bay palms. There’s a lonely cloud hovering over lions head, the rest of the sky is clear and the air is fresh. It’s going to be a beautiful day in Cape Town.
While the roads are still empty we jump in to our stylish Range Rover Evoque courtesy of Wiggle car hire and cruise up Geneva drive to catch a better view of the bay and en route collect our açaí smoothie bowls from our favourite Beetbox Cafe...breakfast is done right!
Our aim for this trip to the Western Cape was to experience all the gems the city has to offer.
Cape Town is full of things to do! This beautiful city not only boasts amazing views and activities but also has some of the best restaurants in the world. We were invited to experience the best of Cape towns fine dining with a view at the Silo Hotel, a unique experience with incredible views of table mountain and the V&A waterfront.
We were introduced to the magnificent rooftop of the hotel with champagne and a tour of our surrounds from the harbour to the mountain and ocean views as for as the eye can see. The Silo rooftop also has an infinity pool which is beautiful held by transparent glass that makes you feel like you’re swimming in the clouds.
We were then ushered down to the Granary restaurant where we were briefed on The Silo’s new 2 course lunch menu with a selection that covers all bases and will satisfy the harshest food critic! The food was to die for, with special mention of the steak which we enjoyed like nothing before. For only R290 pp, the new lunch menu is perfect for anyone wanting to enjoy a fine dining experience with a view.
We got to meet the man behind the magic, chef Riaz, who gave us more insight to the choice of the food and his heritage and experience of being a top tier chef.
A common attraction is signal hill with even more spectacular views. Picture the scene, Robben island and a golden sunset that brings a cheer from the spectators as it drops behind the horizon. While enjoying a sundowner with friends we also watched as brave paragliders run off the cliffs edge and float across the coastline.
To top the day off, another foodie experience awaits us for dinner at La Tete. A quaint restaurant on Bree Street, La Tete is minimal in appearance which lends no distractions from its phenomenal menu and delicious food that is out in front of you. It was recommended that we try various starters and one main to share and get a wide range of tasters. From liver pate to crispy duck, porcini mushrooms from Kokstad to creme brûlée that was all sorts of creamy sweetness. La Tete is full experience of interesting food combinations created in a ways oh so tasty !
A full day in the city of Cape Town ended the perfectly as one last view of the lights below table mountain welcomed us back down Geneva drive and into our 17 Geneva Upper Apartment we turned off the lights and watched the full moon radiant along the sea.
